Are you aware that we've been giving temporary protected status to Central Americans since the mid 1980s? I thought it started in the 1990s with a big Hurricane but yes, I am generally aware that they have never left. I posted both of the articles that we have been discussing on this topic over the last couple of weeks.

The reason I posted them is to show how difficult it is to make people on temporary visas return to their country of origin when their visas expire. I think we will see a repeat of this problem on a scale 20 or 30 times larger if the President gets his guest worker program passed and I am trying to get the supporters of nonsense like the Cornyn-Kyl Guest worker Program to acknowledge that fact.

They should also recognize that problems like the MS-13 and other Central American Gangs can almost in their entirety be attributed to these temporary visas.

You are right that it has turned into a giant amnesty. I will be fighting it all the way, but I will be amazed if we don't eventually give these folks citizenship.

I asked you just to test the temperature. http://64.233.179.104/search?q=cache:Z8BYJxWFEqYJ:encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761566973_4/Immigration.html+%22temporary+protected+status%22+central+war&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=3

TPS has been around for years and was originally to cover illegal immigrants from Central America who fled civil wars of the 1980s. Of course they stayed for good. My guess is at least two million Central Americans are here permanently due to this fraud. They hired immigration lawyers and other wise guys to make their stay permanent. Long before any damn hurricanes
