How convienient. Who writes the judges paychecks?

many states have that same rule regarding punative damages.

It is one of the reasons tort reform does not get so much traction.

I hope this is overturned on the federal level somehow.

Since the lawyers will get 50%, I guess they will have to pay some of their money to the judges too, right after the man's family kicks in thier 10% to make up the difference.
