The problem was storm surge. In large part to that inter coastal canal I believe. I think in some ways it was the perfect storm. Also if some idiot had secured a barge we wouldnt have had half the flooding in Nola esp in the lake view area that resulted in the waters you saw on canal and the quarter

The point is, Katrina was Cat 2 on the weak side. Surge was probably Cat 3.

The levees were supposed to hold up to Cat 3. They didn't.

Well Bush will just have to get there before the storm hits with some real assistance and move everyone to a safe place and then we build new levees that will withstand a category umpteen storm surge.
