Bush can't figure it out. He should just shut his mouth about immigration. It is doing him more harm then good.

I don't know if there is anyway to compile the statistics but if you were to do an analysis of the discussion here at Free Republic about his SOTU speech my guess is that you would find that about 80% of it focused on his immigration policies and about 80% of the posters in those threads were negative about what he had to say. We are his base and most of us are bashing him for his immigration policy(deservedly in my opinion) rather than supporting him for the 95% of his SOTU speech that was pretty good.

By now, he should know he is going to get that reaction. He is his own worst enemy. By shafting us on that one issue he gets an angry base that is not inclined to support him on anything.
