The idea of unhinged LEOs out there scares the living hell out of me. I keep my nose clean, I follow all laws, I don't speed, and if I get pulled over, I provide the LEO with my CCW along with the rest of the standard documentation.

Dealing with corrupt cops is a tough business, as the state is apt to side with them in almost every case. Unless you can provide evidence to the contrary, many LEOs could get away with murder. Scary society we live in nowadays.

In Texas, the law requires that you do so.

When I got stopped by the cop (locally reknowned as "Elvis") in a tiny speed trap town and showed him all required documentation, he asked, "Sir, do you have your sidearm with you?"

When I replied, "Yessir, I do", he replied, "Good! It ain't worth a d@#n if you don't have it with you!"
