Her comments about the RATs' implosion are accurate, but her petty critique of the speech itself make her look, well.............petty. Like an out of work speechwriter.
The speech was great.........strong, bold, in your face at the Dems. And Peggy is right about a party that is being yanked by their nose rings by Kos and moveon.org. She should have left her sour grapes opinion of the speech out of this.
(Then again, it's not as bad as her 'God-drenched' trainwreck of a review of the President's visionary, eloquent 2nd Inaugural Address........)
Maybe Peg will forget the speech, but millions of us won't. Her Dem critique is correct, but how cheap to take shots at the President in the manner she does. Persuades not at all, and makes her look "petty", for sure.
The speech was great.........strong, bold, in your face at the Dems.

Peggy reminds me of an English teacher who can't see past the form of the assignment to the impact of the student's work.
President Bush (and his speech-writing staff) know how to put concepts into language that he is comfortable using, and that will have a desired effect on its audience. Knowing that the Dems wanted to be demonstrative, he gave them red meat. Every reaction by them will be useful in future negotiations and campaign ads.
