Why does Peggy Noonan have such a hatred for President Bush? She sounds like a Democrat whenever she writes about him.
My guess is, she did not get a gig at the White House at a time when she wanted one.
I would characterize this as a typical Peggy 'rant'.
I've had a very hard time reading her crap [carping about anything the GOP does that's not the way she would do - kind of a feminine Pat Buchanan] for a very long time now!
I read her carping as jealousy more than anything. Her comments are more about the content/construct of his speeches than they are about what he is trying to communicate.
It's not hate to refuse to wear kneepads.
She does sound like a dem and a snotty one at that.
I think Peggy's in the throes of menopause, or maybe we should say "mean-o-pause."
Actually I have a theory. Peggy volunteered to help out with the 2004 election as a Bush advisor. I think she was looking for a permanent position. When she didn't get the position she got a little bitter.
I think Peggy Noonan yearns for the days when she wrote the SOTU speeches. She is bitter that she is no longer on the "inside".
She's a silly frivolous flake. A mega flake. There is no there, there
Maybe they weren't grateful enough to her for taking off time to work on his campaign. Or maybe they didn't hire her to write speeches. I do know she hasn't had a lot of praise for Bush since he was re-elected.

What? She loves the guy. She occasionally sounds all school-girlish. But she does have a point: President Bush does not persuade anyone to believe as he does. He simply instructs how his actions are necessary to promote his values.
Peggy Noonan is out of the loop and can't stand it. She thinks she is one of the main architects of Reagan Conservatism and she has been ignored. Too bad, she is a good writer and Bush's speechwriters need all the help they can get.
See post #160 above.
I agree. She has very few good things to say about him.
