And when asked why he didn't have a plan to evacuate nursing home patients, Nagin tried to explain it away that they had letters of agreement with the city, schools, etc., but that it was very complex.

House members said basically that he'd known for years New Orleans could get hit with a big storm and why weren't those plans in place PRIOR to the storm and just followed.

Nagin also kept mentioning 9/11 and trying to equate the two. It was a riveting performance in the same way a train wreck is riveting.

I listened long enough to hear Nagin say there had never been destruction anywhere like there was in NO.

He minimized the WTC events.

Evidently he's unaware of the devestation from Hurricane Andrew.

I doubt anyone who lived thru that storm will forget that as long as they live.
