Not that it matters, but isn't that about the radar cross section of an F-35? I'm certain it is much smaller. The F-117's Xsection has been compared to a bumblebee.

Here are some RCS figures for some aircraft and a couple of missiles. Note that the first number is the RCS in dBsm, and the second figure the RCS in meters squared. Enjoy.

.........//RCS (dBsm) // RCS (m2)

F-15 Eagle // +12 // 15

F-4 Phantom II //+20 // 100

B-52 Stratofortress //+20 // 100

Su-27 //+12 // 15

B-1A //+10 // 10

F-16 Fighting Falcon //+7 // 5

B-1B Lancer //0 // 1

F-18E/F Super Hornet // 0 // 1

Rafale //0 // 1

Typhoon //-3 // 0.5

AGM-86 ALCM //-6 // 0.25

BGM-109 Tomahawk //-13 // 0.05

SR-71 Blackbird //-18 // 0.015

F-22 Raptor //-22 // 0.0065

F-117 Nighthawk //-25 // 0.003

B-2 Spirit //-28 // 0.0015

AGM-129 ACM //-30 // 0.001

Boeing Bird of Prey //-70 // 0.0000001

And a better way to see just how 'tiny' the stealthier crafts are compare their RCS (meters squared) with the following chart. The stealthy craft basically have insect-level RCS'.

Anyways, here is the chart (note that craft like the Raptor are around the insect RCS range):

Surely, everyone and his dog are working on defeating stealth, perhaps defeating stealth is cheaper than and smarter than developing high risk, high cost stealth programs.

The next generation Radar and Ladar developers have a brief of finding the F22, plus the next generation of stealth. Thoughts.
