If the JCS can distract the public from trenchant criticism by claiming it's disrespectful to the troops--and remember, the cartoon is about RUMSFELD, not the soldier--doesn't that give them a free pass to cover their butts and deflect ANY criticism?
Is it possible that what bothers them isn't the depiction of the soldier, but the sharpness of the criticism of the Pentagon civilians?
Sure, it's "possible", but said criticism in the cartoon so misses the mark and is so easily dismissed as foolish that making fun of the amputee soldier is all you have left.
Is is possible for you to get a clue? I'm beginning to think that liberals are wired entirely differently than the rest of the country. Perhaps it's this total lack of class or understanding of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable that is causing you to keep losing.
The fact that you don't see anything insulting about that cartoon says more about you than you will ever realize.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.... You liberals love to split hairs and argue, especially when you've just laid a big t*rd in the punchbowl. If the cartoonist had any creativity, he could have designed his message without pouring salt on the wounded.
