Our foreign policies make others hate us enough to kill themselves in order to make a point to us.

I'd have to say Islam has a lot to do with that. I whole heartedly agree with everything else you wrote though. I think this "war on _________" phenomenon is part of what is keeping a lot of people disillusioned with the real war on terrorists that we are in. When you say "war", you'd better mean it, and not cheapen the term by using it for every little situation that comes along. It's childish. I saw something about a "war on obesity" the other day. Idiots!/rant off.

I hear you and agree however, Islam has had nothing to do with some of the incidents that have taken place in this Country where people have died to prove their point. Waco no matter your point of view of the people and what they were doing or why the Feds decided to go in as they did. Yet they defended themselves for what they believed in,to the death. My point is I believe local agencies will see more activity like this in the future and that escalates Police responses and the urgency to control the situations thus leaving the public hoping we are dealing with seasoned officers with good judgment. Thats becoming more and more like an expensive gamble. Thanks for your comment.
