We have between 12-20 million illegals in this country. Giving them the "right" to work here after they have broken our immigration law IS an amnesty. And if you believe that they'll go home after their time here is done, I have a bridge in Arizona I'd like to sell you. What part of the SOTU speech where the President said "no amnesty" do you not understand?

What part of the SOTU speech where the President said "no amnesty" do you not understand? You are correct, Dane. A guest worker program obviously does not include the illegals currently in this country (Guests are invited, these folks entered illegally). President Bush must be talking about those who have not entered this country illegally. Would you agree to that?

I have generally agreed with you on alot of things as of late, but I do have this question for you. By "no amnesty" does he mean that guestworkers will not be allowed to stay after their temporary visa expires, or does he mean, as McCain and Kennedy seem to believe, that they should be allowed to gain citizenship while working in this country?
There is a very big difference. I am completely against any worker plan that has a path to citizenship. That is amnesty plain and simple.

What part of the SOTU speech where the President said "no amnesty" do you not understand? That statement does not amount to a hill of beans; all the Mexicans have to do is to drop an anchor baby and everything is hanky-dory.
To negate the XIVth amendment is a stretch, and GWB is not going to get it.
I say, seal the borders, kick butt and take numbers for the "guest worker programs"!
