In the court (and courts) of life and death, a little 11-year-old Massachusetts girl named Haleigh Poutre could be the next Terri Schiavo. For those who have not heard the tragic story, Haleigh was beaten nearly to death last September, allegedly by her adoptive mother and stepfather. The beating left her unconscious and barely clinging to life.
Within a week or so of the beating, her doctors had written her off. They apparently told Haleigh's court-appointed guardian, Harry Spence, that she was "virtually brain dead." Even though he had never visited her, Spence quickly went to court seeking permission to remove her respirator and feeding tube. The court agreed, a decision affirmed recently by the supreme court of Massachusetts.
And so, no doubt with the best of intentions, a little girl who had already suffered so much was stripped by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts of even the chance to fight to stay alive. If she didn't stop breathing when the respirator was removed, which doctors expected, she would slowly dehydrate to death.

Do you know that some of Terri's nurses when she was at a nursing home would turn up the tv set when HINO was there yelling and scaring Terri?

I will explain it, didn't mean to get confusing. The expression goes something like, "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, maybe it is a duck."
I was just saying that maybe you were a troll, not a duck. All you have to do is substitute "troll" for "duck."
I reserve "quack" usually for doctors like the ones who mis-read everything medical about Terri.

When are you going to post something constructive and supportive? I would much rather respond to true debates on issues than to have to respond to disruptive attacks on those who think killing Terri was wrong.
My opinion is that he wanted to make sure she couldn't get better enough to communicate. He hooked up with that bloody ghoul, Felos, and they both worked together to obtain their own goals.
The ACLU is is a flippin' joke. American civil liberty union. My ass! I am also deeply disappointed in the Rebuplican party for many reasons, and so it doesn't surprise me that they lay down with dogs. They don't have a pro life platform anymore.
Why didn't they call security? After all, wasn't that their job? OTOH, they may have not given a rat's ass.

I've been reading a very interesting book about doctors who were involved in the Nazi euthanasia programs. THE NAZI DOCTORS: Medical Killing and the Psychology of Genocide, by Robert J. Lifton.
Here's an interested excerpt from his description of his interview with a man only identified as Dr. R., who managed to get himself transferred without reprisals from the Nazis. This is Dr. Lifton, describing a portion of the interview.
For he still had inner questions about whether he could have left the program even earlier; and when asked what advice he would give to young doctors to prevent them from becoming vulnerable to that kind of project in the future, he immediately answered, “I would advise them to leave — not to stay in such programs!” Don't stay even for a minute, he seemed to be saying, lest you become part of the killing. And even more strongly: “Today I would rather let myself be shot than participate in such an action.”
Who really thinks the man wants to be shot? He is comparing a bad thing to a worse thing.

The way Allison, Haleigh's mom puts it, that her sister and the stepfather LIED very convincingly about Haleigh self abusing. Haleigh was so afraid that when Allison asked Haleigh about all her injuries Haleigh would simply say "I have problems, that's all."
Meanwhile, DSS in Massachusetts have gagged Wendy Murphy and Allison about Haleigh's condition (sound familiar) and per WENDY MURPHY, ESQ., the DSS KNEW that Haleigh was not PVS when they went to the Mass Supreme Court to get an order to take Haleigh's life.
Mitt Romney better be having a REAL investigation. The world is watching. Haleigh can even follow instructions and indicate some yes and no answers. They were going to take her life anyway.
