While I didn't actually hear the speech last night, I did read it today -- pretty good. Of course, I won't go to CNN, but I'd give it an A.
LOL!
You appear to be in the distinct minority.
btw Bill Kristol is hardly a barometer of public impression. He never has liked Bush and has panned the majority of Bush's speeches.
'No wonder the country is suffering from severe malaise now.'
What country are YOU living in? Jobs are UP, Stocks are UP, economy is ROLLING, Not ONE attack here since 9-11....
Ah but happiness is a STATE OF MIND, LOL
I gave him a B too. It dragged a little, he lost my attention on more than one occasion. I noticed him trying to hide his smile which some view as a smirk.
I was moved by his emotion after he read the words of the patriot that gave his life for our freedom. As the cameras panned to the family, Bush was obviously moved to tears...but we weren't allowed more than a glimpse of this wonderful Presidents raw emotion.
I love that man!

Appears MM is suffering from "Jimmy Carter syndrome"
The most unfortunate thing about our military fighting in Iraq is that by doing do they also end up defending and protecting the sorry-assed likes of you.
Have a nice day.
Is that a disease now also? Will medicare cover it, LOL?

I think MM might be Jimmy Carter
The only malaise I see is on DU, at the DNC, and in the Antique Media. Hardly a working brain cell in the entire bunch.
I'd give the Address a B, and the speech a D.
President Bush is one of the least talented public speakers among presidents in memory. He generally hits an annoying cadence with his speaking voice that tempts me to tune him out. I fight against that temptation, but it's still annoying.
I can usually get past that to hear the words that are being said, and generally, the words, the sentences, the concepts, are very good. But his speechifying isn't.
Anyway, that's my opinion, and I expect to be flamed for it. I doubt that I'll respond to those flaming replies.
Grades are one thing... but how about the SELF ESTEEM of the Democrat party?! ;)

It was those Democrat levees that caused the flooding of New Orleans, and it was Clinton who left our seniors to drop dead all over the streets from lack of medicines. It was also Clinton who stood by for eight years and apathetically watched the terrorists develop their networks and their plans, plans which ultimately resulted in the devastating attacks of 9/11/01. It was also Clinton who watched disinterestedly as Saddam tried to purchase yellow-cake uranium from Niger.
Thank God that George W. Bush was elected to save our nation and the world. And thank God that George W. Bush ignores the Democrats' pleas for a 'terrorist bill of rights' and spies on the terrorists without wasting his time trying to get warrants from the liberal courts.
