Here's the latest thread containing a whole group of the "muhammed" cartoons.. (about half way down)
This paper gets a Gold Star for the day.
No source, but I heard German, Dutch, Icelandic, Italian, and Spanish newspapers also printed some of the drawings today
Your Giants versus Cowboys comparison is valid, but there should be no doubt of the favored outcome. What's going on is not a game.
And, not from the Danish media, but let's not leave out:
This is wonderful news. Time to stand up to their unrealistic view of the world and their role in it. (Hint to Muzzies: you will not dominate.)
Here's one about the german papers http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1138622526823&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull
If you make the effort to look it up, I bet you'll be surprised at how well-armed the French are.
If the French are well armed then yes, I would be very surprised. My suspicion was that if the Brits are disarmed then surely the rest of Europe must be, but at your suggestion I'll check on it.
The French, Germans, and Swiss are fairly well-armed (especially the Swiss - they are super-armed). I know the British and the Greeks are disarmed. Otherwise, I don't know but it varies considerably.
Now, the one caveat is that handguns are much more restricted than hunting rifles, so most of the European arms (in private ownership) are the latter.
A hunting rifle is kinda tough to stick under your coat or wear on your ankle for personal protection, so I'll go back to my original idea of steel collars as a fashion trend for the Europeans. ;-)
"In per capita terms, Germans buy almost as many firearms as Americans"
The study, 'Small Arms Survey, 2003' published by the Geneva-based Graduate Institute of International Studies, points out that the United States, with roughly 83 to 96 guns per 100 people, is approaching the statistical level of one gun per man, woman and child.
"This enormous excess of weapons fuels violence, increases the human and economic costs when conflict occurs, and hinders development in our cities and towns," Goldring said.
LOL!
Yes, but please do bear in mind that this 17 guns per people statistic is averaging out nations such as England, that ban private gun ownership almost completely, with nations such as Germany, where private citizens buy almost as many guns as Americans (per capita).
We already covered that there are major differences between the various nations.
That is a rather funny quote you found. :)
I understand. And I am surprised to learn about Germany and especially France. As I said, it was my assumption that Europeans were largely unarmed.
