A family member is involved in the government, and they have been getting "threat reports" bullitens about a possible attack in Detroit, or most likely in another American city during the super bowl. According to this family member, there is a lot of "chatter" going on. Nothing concrete is being said about the subject, but they believe Feb 5 is a significant date, because it has been mentioned frequently. Remember that Bin Laden and his buddy have been releasing tapes lately, which have sometimes been used in the past as a signal to attack. Be vigilant.
I mentioned this elsewhere but I think it bears repeating. During the Superbowl Christian churches all over the country will be holding typical Sunday evening worship services. Many will be hosting superbowl parties for young people. I know, I used to be a youth pastor and did this every year.
I have not found anything about a specific threat to such gatherings (other than one comment on another thread where a woman mentioned that her mega-church in Miieapolis had been cased by suspected terrorists afew months ago).
It is (once again) only a hunch, but churches have been attacked in other parts of the world, and just past weekend in Iraq 4 churches were bombed.
I don't want to be an alarmist but I think it would be a good idea for churches to get the word to be extra vigilant this Sunday, specifically Sunday evening.
