So let's start the speculation now. If Stevens retires, who should be nominated? I vote for JRB.
It will be hard not to appoint a minority or a woman if President Bush gets another chance to nominate.
But what will we do if none of the quality picks are willing to go through the gauntlet and endure the torture of their family?
I think it will be very hard for the DEMS to cast aspersions at a BLACK WOMAN as Justice.....but, then, Dems casting aspersions is kinda their nature, these days.
