I think it's like the way my dad says 'motorcycle' and it comes out sounding more like 'motorsickle'. He knows it irks people, but he does it anyway. :)
Do you say bi-SI-kle or bi-SICK-le? I say bi-SICK-le and motor-SI-kle. (just butting in on your pronunciation discussion)
