Rochester billionaire and Paychex founder Tom Golisano will not run for Governor.
He released this statement:
"Today, I am announcing my decision not to seek the Republican, Conservative and Independence Party nominations for governor of New York State.
I have made my decision based upon personal and professional reasons. I am involved in many business interests, and will continue to remain active in Paychex and other entrepreneurial ventures.
I will also continue my philanthropic activity. I am committed to the economic development of New York, as well as promoting responsible government.
I thank all of the people who supported me as a potential nominee while I came to this decision.
I am encouraged to hear other candidates raising the very issues that I championed during my earlier campaigns.
I wish all of these candidates well, and sincerely hope that we have a fair and competitive race in New York this fall," B. Thomas Golisano.
Golisano was considered a possible candidate when he switched from the Independence to Republican Party last year. He lost elections in 1994, 1998 and 2002 to Republican Governor George Pataki, who has decided not to seek a fourth term.
Hmmm.
Spitzer probably put a horse's head in Golisano's bed.
No loss.
One down, time to take down the trash named WELD.
William Weld has not more business being Governor of New York than Hillary Clinton has being Senator of New York.
Of course, if Weld drops out, who will that leave?
Hey, Weld is a flawed candidate on a number of levels, but at least Weld (a) was born in NY; (b)has lived here for five years (which is five years more than the Hildebeast when she ran).
