I happen to disagree with much of this assesment about this being bad; democracy is a wonderful thing and it will be much more difficult to take it away from people than to provide it (IMHO). So we do not like the outcome - tough.
It'll be tougher for the Pallies. They made their bed, now they can lie in it.
I, for one, am happy with the outcome. Let the enemy show thir face, in cull color.
Hamas did not want to win the majority; they wanted to win enough to be powerful, but still remain behind the scene.
Hamas is like the democrats. They have no vision, at all, but to trash their opponents.
Deer in the headlights.
Now they are the face upfront, and cannot hide behind the skirts of Fatah.
So now you are in power, Hamas. What will you do?
All action coming from palestine is your fault, for good or for bad.
Be careful what you wish for.
Did you know the ascent of Adolf Hitler to the top nazi job was through democratic election? Did you also know the a$$hole currently running things in Iran was democratically elected? Pretty wonderful stuff...HUH? Let me tell you something pal. The only good election is the one our guy wins. Whether it's a democratic election or not, good people can elect elect rotten bastards. When that happens good people can get hurt. Unless you were born yesterday, you ought to know at least that much.
