I think, given the court's history, it would be wise to wait for some decisions before celebrating. Decisions count. Like politicians, what justices say, and what justices do are two different things.

Yep. I have high hopes for Alito and Roberts, but I am also a realist -- if they are strict constitutionalists there will be some rulings made that will not be favorable, that is the nature of the beast. I will not argue if the ruling is made according to the constitution, even if it not a ruling that I personally like. I just hope some of our "firebrands" also understand this.

Given Alito's extensive record, there is plenty of reason to be confident in his judgement.

I agree we will not really know how these judges will work out in the long haul. The best we can do is start with those who have a proven track record that includes following the Constitution.
