That cartoon character created by Al Capp was always one of my very favorites!
Actually thought he "guided my activities" now and then.
Consider this:
* In 1964, I experienced The Good Friday Earthquake in Alaska,
the strongest ever in North America.
* In Ohio I had the two fronts of The Blizzard of '78
converge on the corner of my upper bedroom window with
70 mph winds at 0100, and the town was by law confined
to our homes for 4 days while they cleared that snow,
which had fallen on the accumulated snow of 3 storms the previous week!
* Growing up in Florida, I had many hurricanes brush by/pass over me -
at Parris Island, SC in 1952, had 2 hurricanes creep by,
our barracks 2 blocks from the Atlantic Ocean.
* Living in Virginia in 1955, had to evacuate Chincoteague
(an island 2 x 7 miles small sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay)
with only 1 wooden bridge to the mainland
when two hurricanes came right by it.
Living in North and South Carolina, had remnants of several hurricanes visit my aode.
One 3 years ago dumped 10" of rain between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. right on my front yard, creating a lake I measured as one foot deep!
I thus suspected Joe had briefly joined my body - or else I am secretly his sister?
LOL
