President Bush's term runs until Jan. 20, 2009, but after late 2007 the Democrats will just stall any nominee hoping that a 'Rat will win in 2008.

Justice Stevens will b 86 on April 20. He will be 88 before the end of Bush's term. Several justices have lived to see their 90th birthday, but I think only one justice in U.S. history has stayed on the court past his 90th birthday--Oliver Wendell Holmes. Blackmun retired at about the age Stevens is now--Holmes may have been the only one to continue to serve in his late 80s.
