A deal with the Democrats: Bernie Sanders ignites passion, controversy ( Barf Alert )
Vermont Guardian ^ | January 27, 2006 | Shay Totten

Posted on 01/30/2006 9:08:15 AM PST by george76

After months of tacit approval, Vermont Democrats made it official:

Bernie Sanders is one of them, at least for this election season.

Despite the endorsement — and the campaign cash is likely to follow — Sanders still keeps the Democratic Party at arm’s length.

“Congressman Sanders put it best when he said the Democrat Party is ‘ideologically bankrupt.’

Their endorsement of him proves it,” ...

Attracting national Democratic support...Howard Dean, ...Harry Reid...Sen. Russ Feingold have backed Sanders’ Senate bid.

Feingold...was in Vermont earlier this month to stump for Sanders.

“Bernie is a true progressive,” said Feingold.

While a top Sanders aide was on hand to receive the endorsement news at the state Democratic Party meeting on Jan. 21, Sanders was headed to California to be the guest of honor at a fundraising reception in upscale Marin County.

The $100-a-person meeting was followed by a $20-per-head meet the candidate event just outside of San Francisco.

Marin County Democrats organized both events. About 200 people showed up at each.

These fundraisers didn’t show up on Sanders’ campaign website.

Sanders has long cultivated and relied heavily on out-of-state donations...

In 2004, 90 percent of his donations came from outside of Vermont...

“Since [Minnesota Sen.] Paul Wellstone died, there has been no voice of progressives...

“It’s hypocrisy."

"On one hand Bernie has been spending his entire career as a ‘spoiler’ candidate and on the other he is working against his political soul mate to have the same opportunity as he had to build a political career,” said Barnett, adding that Sanders once called such deal-making “corrupt.”

“Bernie’s views about the Democratic Party are basically the same as mine — they’re weak and take unprincipled stands,”...

“Bernie is a true progressive,” said Feingold.

So the Dems have admitted "progressive" is just another name for socialist.

Big leftist migration to Vermont back in the 60's and 70's.

“Bernie is a true progressive,” said Feingold.

Yep, he sure is. He's the only leftwing member of congress with enough integrity to admit right out in the open that he's a Socialist.

Now, those of us watching the show from up here in the cheap seats know damn well that most of the so-called "progressives" are closeted socialists. They just don't have the nerve to admit it.

Of course Bernie doesn't run on the Socialist ticket, he goes the "Independant" route... but at the end of the day, he's just another tired old wanna-be commie.

The next line should be..." we are socialists."

Someone posted on another thread that Bernie Sanders had collapsed at a funeral. He did but he walked to the ambulance. It is on a Vermont newspaper site. It had an odd sentence which said something like, "his wife had a flu". I do not understand that.

Moles are individuals who are ostensibly working within the republic and its capitalist system, while their real goal is to subvert it, weakening its foundations and replacing them with the Marxist-socialist philosophy described as Progressivism.

In the United States House of Representatives, these people all belong to the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

According to its website, "The Congressional Progressive Caucus was established in the U. S. House of Representatives in the early 1990s.  It reflects the diversity and strength of the American people, and we seek to give voice to the needs and aspirations of all Americans and to build a more just and humane society."

"The Progressive Promise, "Fairness for All," is rooted in three core principles:  Fighting for economic justice and security for all; Protecting and preserving our civil rights and civil liberties; and Promoting global peace and security."

Social Justice: Code for Communism

These members of the United States House of Representatives also belong to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

The DSA is a confederation of socialists formed in 1983 when a splinter group of the Socialist Party (Michael Harrington's Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee, DSOC) merged with the SDS splinter New American Movement (NAM).

The DSA has many celebrity members, including feminist Gloria Steinem, actor Ed Asner, black activist Cornel West, and libertarian socialist Noam Chomsky. It is also the chief American member group of the Socialist International, which includes the British Labour Party and the French Parti Socialiste.

The main aim of DSA was to convert the Democratic Party into a social democratic organization.

For more information about the DSA, you can go to their web site at http://www.dsausa.org.

At one time, the following list could be located on the DSA web site.  Once this list was made public, The DSA removed the link.  These congress critters don't want you to know their true colors (red).
