The Bible, as it was written by the men who were "carried along by the Holy Spirit of God", is inerrant on all it addresses. It must be read with humility, with some understanding of the cultural context and much attention to the literary context. And no man who still dead in his sins can understand the spiritual Truth contained therein.

The Bible disclosed scientific truths about human physiology (the purpose and nature of blood, for example) thousands of years before scientists figured it out. And no statement of fact presented in the Bible has been truthfully contradicted by any scientific discovery, the pool of Bethesda being a recent example.

While many primitive men thought the world was flat - this assessment is not found in Scripture. Note - the men whose pens were used physically wrote the Bible, but they are not its authors - that would be God Himself.

English (and other language) translations have some error, as all linguistic interpretations do. But the Bible has been tested by countless atheists and never once been found wanting or in error. We who speak English can rest easy knowing that the NASB and NKJV Bibles are the most accurate, word-for-word translations available.

If the Bible cannot be trusted, there is no such thing as idolatry. Because in that case, God is not Who He said He was and we are not bound such quaint views.

The Bible does not make the claims you assert (that the world is flat, circles do not exist, bronze-boned monsters once roamed). What is your basis for saying such? In Job 40:18 a "behemoth" (or hippopotamus) is described: "His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron." Is this what you refer to? This does not say the beast's bones ARE brass (or bronze), but they are LIKE brass - strong!

The bible is trustworthy. Man and what he thinks he knows about himself, the world, and God is not trustworthy.

While many primitive men thought the world was flat - this assessment is not found in Scripture.

Double sigh.

"[T]he devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them" (Matthew 4:1-12)

Even an infinitely tall mountain would not allow one to see both sides of a sphere simultaneously.

"The earth takes shape like clay under a seal." (Job 38:14)

You don't stamp clay out into a sphere with a seal. You stamp it into a flat relief.

"To whom then will ye liken God? ....It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth (Isaiah 40:18-23)

Circles are two-dimensional objects. The bible is a flat-earth book. The sooner you accept that the bible is not a natural history textbook, the sooner you'll be able to begin truly appreciating creation.
