Inhofe: After the first Gulf War, I went to Kuwait and met with a prominent Kuwaiti. Iraqis didn't know the war was over. They were still burning oil fields.
The Kuwaiti found that Hussein had used his home for Iraqi troops and his daughter's room was used as a torture room. There were ears and body parts in that girl's bedroom. (Inhofe was there with them when they found their house in that condition).
Inhofe talking about babies with their eyes gouged out and heads bashed against a wall. The only reason we went to Iraq wasn't WMD.
Sadly, Bush and the 'pubs knew they were right to attack, but they did a poor job selling the case. IMO, they relied too much on 9-11 angst. Got lazy, in a way.
