Granted it would stop the pandering to the likes of Move-on, but then would it really? Does anyone thing the State Legislature in California would send anyone better than Boxer or Feinstein to DC to represent the State of California? and what about Mass... what kind of candidate would they send to DC -- still another Kerry or Kennedy? or would the corruption just drop down to the state levels in order to get the legislatures you want in order to get the Senators you want?
The way I see it the system is definitely broken but everytime someone messes with it we get more broken china, not less.
