As recounted in my Thursday NewsBusters item, on that evening's World News Tonight, in setting up the lead story about Congressman John Murtha's call for troop withdrawal from Iraq, anchor Bob Woodruff “distorted President Bush's comments in Asia as he insisted Bush 'took every chance he could to say that people who question his rationale for going to war in Iraq are not only wrong, but irresponsible and unpatriotic.'” On Friday's World News Tonight, Woodruff backtracked: “A clarification about a report that we aired last night in our coverage of the ongoing debate about the original case for war and the Democratic allegations that the White House misled the American public. We reported that the President was calling such charges 'irresponsible' and 'unpatriotic.' He did say they are 'irresponsible.' He did not call them 'unpatriotic.'”

I go there occasionally. I hope the mans life is not in danger and that he is well enough to go back to work broadcasting the other sides view about how evil America is and that our troops are monsters raping, pillaging and burning innocent women and children.

After all, a several million dollar salary is in jeopardy.

And how long has the MSM been prattling on about the negatives of this conflict without honestly reporting the point of view of OUR servicemen/women; proud of what they're doing in Iraq but dismayed by the reporting back home and cut-n-run politicians?

They do "the right thing" everyday for pennies-on-the-dollar of Woodruff's salary, yet get treated as Bush-whacking fodder by the MSM: how many dead, how many wounded, 24/7 airtime to a fallen soldier's mom who thinks the war was wrong.

Too bad for Woodruff and Vogt, but my sympathies and heartfelt appreciation goes to the REAL HEROES, in uniform, who deserve it, and who've EARNED IT!

I resent that. It is rather the soft-headed who cave at the slightest mope, the first wimper from poisoning elements of society who require constant shielding and abatement provided by leftists and weak conservatives.

The strong and courageous will not yield judgement to difficult circumstance. We were raised right that way.
