talks aimed at resolving the dispute must allow Iran to maintain its national dignity.

Why the hell are -WE- in control of -THEIR- dignity?

Seems to me like it should be -THEIR- responsibility.

Iranian national dignity requires a leader with at least some pretense of sanity. Persians presently lack both. So how about this compromise: Iran loses its nuclear weapons programs, nuclear research facilities, enriched uranium, and whatever other atomic physics/energy/military projects they have. In return, they cease and desist supporting terrorists, drop their Chief Ayatollah, get new free, fair, and open elections for President and legislature, and ditch the Guardian Council and communistic economic system, receive the Bill of Rights, and become an American protectorate. That compromise would restore Iranian national dignity and set the country on the road to peace.
