I can't really afford to shrug it off, nor can I afford to not care what happens after I'm gone. I've got a little chopper after all.

I guess the best I can do is point out to him when someones doing something really stupid and say 'don't do that Tyler, it's really stupid'.

Yes, he just turned 11 a few weeks ago. Hard to believe isn't it. Oh well, We're just doing the best that we can with what we've got.

It's kind of funny. Clan Lurker spent several days packing up relief supplies for these folks in NO as I said above. Tylers school put a bunch of stuff together for it, too. Our effort was directed at Mississippi as it seemed they kind of got overlooked by the press. The county we sent stuff to was pretty much completely devastated.

We got some nice letters from the folks down there telling us how much they appreciated the goods we sent. L Jr has a picture of a class of kids who got the school supplies they put together. It wasn't much, just some things like pencils, paper, backpacks, and a pile of Barnes and Noble gift cards so they could buy books. The school said that kind of thing was what was needed most, so that's what we sent.

I swear Sandy, some days I don't know whether to crap or go blind. You know what I mean? This idiot UncleSham here is a prime example. Dear God in Heaven...80 billion dollars in US taxpayer money, and still they want more. Like somehow I'm responsible for paying for his house or something.

I'm really sorry those folks got wiped out, and we've done a lot to help 'em out but all they want is more, more, more. And if we don't just say 'ok here's the keys to the Treasury' then I'm the ugly mofo.... Where in the hell did that come from?

Oh well, you and I both know where it came from. That's the pity.

Damn....some days I wish I didn't have a young 'un. Then I could just not give a rats fat ass what's coming down the pike. It would make things easier for me.

You take care Sandy. It's really good to see you about again. I hope all is well with you.

L

Uncle Sham doesn't live in New Orleans, and his house is fine.

I don't live in New Orleans, and my house is fine.

And the people in New Orleans haven't actually got that promised $80 billion yet.

You and your kids were nice to send bottled water and pencils and Barnes and Noble gift cards. But these people don't have any houses and they don't have any furniture and they don't have any clothing and they don't have pots, pans, plates, dishes, forks, spoons, knives.

If someone just burned every house in your entire town, every store, every business, every car, every truck, every tool, and told you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps -- 200,000 houses gone, 400,000 people homeless and lost their livelihoods -- well, I won't wish that one you but maybe you'd know how it feels.

I always wondered what would happen in America if some terrorists set off a nuclear bomb in one of our cities. Never imagined it would be like this.

I've lost my faith in America. People like you killed it. You're a very nice man but you just have no clue and you don't want one. Nothing wrong with looking out for Number One. That's what keeps them alive all over the world. I just thought America was better.

So, now I know.

No, you know what? I don't care what you think.

Stay in your cushy world and look down your nose at people who are worse off than you.

I feel sorry for you.

"We got some nice letters from the folks down there telling us how much they appreciated the goods we sent"

Your state helped itself to an average take of 3.9 billion dollars from Louisiana's offshore oil and gas revenues over the past 50 years. It wasn't your oil, it wasn't your gas. It was Louisiana's coastline taking the beating and the sweat of Louisiana citizens doing all of the hard work. Your state did nothing to earn it's share of our money from our oil and gas offshore reserves. Yet, I'll bet you drive on highways and over bridges where you live that were financed in whole or in part by much of it.

Our resources have helped your state live in the modern world so you and yours could be nice and comfortable in the wintertime. Our card of thanks from you? The shaft along with pompous insults. What a class act you are Lurker.
