A mechanism for bundling up rounds to be inserted into a guns magazine, as in the MI Garand is a clip. also guns like the 03 springfield's magazine used stripper clips to feed the magazine but are removed before using the gun while the garand is fire with the clip in the magazine and it is then ejected after the last round.
