White chocolate
That would be a tough one. IMO Breaux would be hard to beat b/c he would get the 40-45% dem votes that a dem gets just for showing up. He's positioned himself enough to the center that he might be able to swing enough swing votes to get in. He'll also get the southwest La. cajun vote. My husband, who very seldom misses on picking elections b/c of a lifetime involved w/ politics here, says Breaux pulls in just enough votes from enough places to win. I'm not saying I agree or like it, but that's probably the reality.
Breaux has always been one of my favorite southern democrats...at least I dont dislike him, which says alot. I would hope that if he did win the governorship he would govern from the center. Unfortunately the good ole boy dem network would still be in play so we'd still have many of the same problems as always.
I'm looking for a republican to beat Mary Landrieu. She's at her most vulnerable right now. We'll know she's really shaking in her liberal boots is she votes FOR Alito. The only way she's do that is if her internal polling is showing a nosedive b/c her base is spread all over the country. I just hope they dont "find" enough illegitimate voters to fraudulently steal the election.
Fearless prediction.....Dona Brazile will run for governor of LA next year...anyone else notice that she has all but disappeared fro the limelight..
Great, Louisiana has the Landrieu dynasty.
You and your weird Brazile fixation. She will never win state-wide.
If a great-grandmother was already mixed-race then Mitch and his cute sister (what's her name? Marie ... Mare .. oh yea, Mary Landrieu, US Senator) would be 1/16th black and all black features would be washed out.
FYI
But Hillary has gotten a bad rap, or so I was told.

Yeah, just ask Vince Foster (for one)...
It is most definitely NOT a fixation...believe me..
Brazile is a smart woman. That means she knows she can't win in Lousiana apart from William Jefferson's seat or another heavily black house/senate seats.
Of late she's been sounding lower case "conservative"..and tge fact that she has removed herself from the limelight is in itself telling..but she won't run for the House..she doesn't want to spend 25 years in the minority..going to Black Caucus luncheons..
Quite interesting. He must think there's a lot of federal money to skim.
*ping*
Thanx for the correction...I knew Landru was in Star-Trek somewhere.
That or afraid they'll lose control of the fed money like they have now to someone else
LOL!!!!!!!
And that's just after reading the headline!
If NO thought Katrina was bad, wait until Mitch starts ripping off Federal Aid and state aid...
