There ought to be a simple solution for problems of this kind: put a wattage limit on the audio amp of sound systems installed in cars.

Where I live the noise ordenace is if the music can be heard clearly within 25 feet of the offending vehicle. Unfortunately there are seldom cops in my subdivision at 3:30 am, so my solution is to eyeball the offenders car, find out where he lives then get out my wrist sling and a ball berring or marble and do $300 or so damage to his vehicle, so the offender gets the message.

I couldn't disagree more. I am driving a 2006 Corvette that I've put a very nice aftermarket car stereo in, as I love my music, and love to hear and FEEL the bass in it. It’s well over 500W.

Of course, when I get to a stoplight or turn in the neighborhood, I turn it DOWN. It's about being courteous, and following the local noise ordinances, not restricting what I can own. This is the same logic the gun control folks use.

I'm also a 37 year old married fart, so I'm not out at 3 am to wake anyone up. ;)

And for those that don’t understand the whole car audio thing, take a ride in my car and let’s play some tunes. You’ll see how nice it sounds in the car.

Of course, you won’t hear much rap in my ride. ;)
