The media has long had an agenda to diminish America's standing in the world.
If you read history you will see that the media was always the problem. If I am not mistaken, Abraham Lincoln actually jailed some journalists during the Civil War.

Lincoln was savaged just as much by northern papers as he was in the southern ones.
