Not saying he'd want to, but Shays could be a Senator this time next year. Enough Dems are p.o.'d at Holy Joe Lieberman to fracture the party in November. He could "pull a Weicker" and sneak in with, say, 36% of the vote, the kind of thing his mentor did in 1970.
