How about a locking gun case?
A whole lot cheaper than a gun safe, and it provides adequate protection for curious little fingers...available at your local Wally-World, or from dealers online.

My next purchase will be a shotgun, but I may have to wait on that for a while. I don't have room for a gun safe, and I'm not sure about having a shotgun out where Cody might get hurt. I also plan on getting a self load kit for loading my own ammo. :) I'm gonna be a regular annie oakley :)
