First call since Christmas, although he does e-mail once or twice a week.

All is well; he was just coming off patrol, getting ready to hit the chow hall (at 1:00 a.m.???) and then sack out.

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago; he said he sent me a package last week, but won't give me any hints.:)
