Teddy was driving an Oldsmobile when the tragedy happened. General Motors was concerned that with the high profile, they would get blamed as a scapegoat for the accident so they sent a team engineers to the scene to study the cause of the accident. They examined the car in detail, the brakes, tires, and steering system. They tested the angle of the curve in the road, road surface friction, grade, inertia based upon the size and weight of the Oldsmobile. No possibilities were left unexamined.
After a week, the decision of the engineering team was unamanous. Teddy had to be driving in excess of one hundred miles per hour in order for the woman's panties to end up in the glove box!
