Sgt. Roman Diaz defines the American soldier. As an old retired soldier myself, I stand in awe of these young soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen currently fighting the war on terror for us. They make me so proud to be an American.

It's nice that his Captain called, and we make a point of knowing the names of the folks in our sons chain of command just in case - too many asshats have been calling parents with fake "your son is (dead, badly injured, etc)" to take a phone call at face value without some type of confirmation.
On the other hand I NEVER want to come home from work and find a Marine Corps vehicle parked in front of my home, nobody should have that experience....
