What was the % when we went into Iraq?

I guess my point is that polls don't mean much.

The poll means plenty. Americans supported the Iraq war and have continued to support it. We make decisions in the here and now, not on polls measuring whether we have changed our minds about a decision two years ago. If Americans support military action the politicians will feel more confident in acting. If democrats later make us regret attacking Iran, so be it.

If Americans will think strategically, Iran will be much easier to handle now that it is book ended between two of our allies, Iraq and Afghanistan, rather than being surrounded by our enemies.
