I hear that argument frequently, and I'm amazed by it. My husband and I are saving and investing for our own retirement; I would not take the position that more babies should have been born in order to be indentured servants to us!

Knowing the Mainstream Media would not do so, some dear friends of mine worked their tails off to record this year's March for Life, which even the Village Voice has called the largest ever. They have created a web site, called www.ThingsWillChange.org ; and I have posted several of my favorite on this site, with their permission.
Therefore, I am pinging anyone whose ping lists may be even tangentially related to this. Please, unless you believe that your pingees would consider it an misuse of your ping list, Please ping this posting; from the responses I am getting I can estimate with all humility that these images are profoundly inspiring many people.

Wonderful photos! Thank you for this thread! Let me tell you about my favorite poster from the march.
While my group gathered in the Mall, I walked around for a bit during the speeches. I like to scope out the various posters, groups, etc. and collect some of the literature people are passing out. I went by a group of high school kids whose hand-made sign said "ByzanTEENS for Life" at the top. I thought that was clever. Below the words I could see the top of an icon, but right then the sign was at about head level, so I couldn't make out who was on the icon.
I am
so kicking myself for not going up, getting a closer look and talking to them.
By the end of the March, I had got separated from everyone else in my group. So I left the Supreme Court area and began walking toward Union Station where I knew a few of them would be. En route there, I could see down the block that "ByzanTEENS for Life" sign held high.
Below the words was an icon of the Vistation of Mary to Elizabeth. Within each saint, you could see the child she was bearing, as with an artistic "x-ray" -- and you could see the fetal St. John the Baptist within St. Elizabeth joyfully worshipping the Christ Fetus within the Blessed Virgin Mary! It was amazing to look at!
The "windows on the wombs" were not circular abstractions, like in the icon
"Our Lady of the Sign". They were roughly anatomically correct ovalish shapes located in the saints' bellies. The icon looked like it was based on a traditional icon of the visitation, with the "x-ray" images added on.
I started to run to catch up to them and get a closer look and to find out whether it was handmade or purchased, etc. But they crossed the street to get to Union Station, and a red light caught me. By the time the light changed, they were nowhere to be seen.
I did some Yahoo searches hoping to find the "ByzanTEENS for Life" online, and the icon, but was unsuccessful.

Heaven... where all the angles are right angles, and yet each one is acute angle. (Pardon the obtuse humor... It's reflexive.)
Groaaaannnn...

Thanks for doing this.
I'm a veteran of the 2001 March For Life in D.C., and have done the Walk For Life West Coast the past two years.
Keep up the good work.

Yeah not to sound too creepy but I looked at these pictures and thought what a bunch of beautiful young girls and was stgruck by the contrast of pictures of the pro-death marches. There are actually women in these pictures who you can imagine becoming impregnated I always look at the other groups and think, why are they so concerned I can't imagine they will ever have to face the issue themselves!
Hey, I completely agree. Whenever I see video and photos from their marches, the "abortion rights" gals literally scare me. Even the women who aren't physically unattractive are repulsive on some other level because they look so angry, enraged and borderline psychotic. In sharp contrast, the young, female pro-life demonstrators seem so sweet and cheerful.

Wait a minute. Are these photos photoshopped? I did not see anything on the news about this many people marching for life.
