Let the Dems blow hot air. Go ahead and try a filibuster. Won't work and will only appeal to the base of lunatic fringe left-wing wackos who are behind Hillary's possible '08 candidacy. The tree-hugging greens who are anti-Bush with whatever happens.

I think its pure posturing on Hitlery's part.

This is thowing a bone to the left that thinks she has abandoned them.

Now she can say she supported a filibuster, but the rest of her party did not.

Thats a classic political have your cake and eat it too position.

Ah, what to do if you are Hillary?!? Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. This is a time when principle and character help out. Poor Hillary has neither of those to fall back on.

I hope they try it. Going nuclear right now will make it that much easier for the President to appoint Judge Janice Rogers Brown to replace Justice Ginsberg later this year.

Bring it on.

Clinton says she is opposed to Alito's nomination, but is not sure she supports a filibuster

What a profile in courage.

Snort.

One BIG THING this tells me though - She is SCARED of Kerry in 08.

Amen! She knows she needs those moonbats to get elected, so she's toying with them!

As for this:

U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton says being in the minority in Washington, Democrats have few options when they disagree with an issue or an appointment forwarded by republicans...

The hubris of that statement is just stunning; what is she saying, that despite being in the right in every thought and deed, for this period of time, the mean old Republicans and their horrible agenda have the votes and are preventing the Democrats from doing the things the American public wants them to do?

Does she not realize that somebody is ALWAYS in the minority, it's that just now it's HER side? Simply amazing.

I have a feeling she thought it was just FINE when the GOP was in the minority (if she can remember back that far......LOL).

And if the situation was reversed, she's be telling the GOP if they want to make a difference, they should win more seats!

Does being in the minority for the foreseeable future, i.e., the rest of her life, make her say ridiculous stuff like that?

Dear Mrs. Bill Clinton, Go ahead and support the filibuster. This will be just fine with us. It will be the end of YOUR political career. I think Mrs. Bill Clinton that you are just trying to stir the pot and get someone else to do your dirty work. Go ahead. We'll sit back and enjoy the show with you as the star clown.

.the rats don't want him confirmed before the SOTU

That is a strange "victory" for them to seek. Sure, they want to deny GWB the SOTU forum from which to introduce his latest SCOTUS "win" but giving him the bully pulpit opportunity to make a call to end the obstructionism would hardly make that a sweet victory. Well, never stand in the way of your enemy when they choose to self destruct. Then again, HRC would be encouraging Kerry to stumble badly as the leader of the moment, wouldn't she? JOHN! Pay attention to that career dissipation light blinking in the lower right corner of your botoxed eye!
