"Its NOT paranoia if they really ARE out to git ya..
Suggest a re-think.."

OK... I suggest you rethink :-)

Do you seriously think that OBL or any of the current crop of bad guys are going to have their agents attempt to mix in with Latinos and slog through the desert when they could essentially guarantee a safe and secure entry by spending whatever it takes to secure documents and travel in style ?

"Prosecute employers and most of the illegals will slip BACK across ther border in a year.. AND then build the wall.."

... and just what is the wall ( it's not just a fence anymore ? ) supposed to accomplish then ... give them a place to play midnight handball ?

Any one of those tunnel workers can drop a dime to ICE or the FBI, and get a big $$$ reward.

Not as big as the scumfathers can dole out.

There have been other much simpler tunnels dug that did not take "millions" to make.

Building a fence is an idea of simpletons without the ability to think creatively, and it simply won't fix the problem unless you dig 20 feet below as well.

Note that this tunnel got past our sophisticated detection equipment.

I usually don't respond at all to these " Do you still beat your wife" type fo questions, but I'll simply ignore it in your case.

Oh, how kind. (/sarcasm)

Does it surprise you that Arabs would be in that group ? I would be very surprised if they were NOT.

As I've stated before, there is little *surprise* left in a documented fact.

Nor does it surprise me that you have done a very entertaining dance without ACTUALLY ANSWERING my original question:

Where is the *logic* in fighting an enemy across the ocean while simultaneously allowing that SAME enemy to stream unchecked into your home camp?

----------------

You tout *logic* while rationalizing illogical conclusions.

You think everyone is looking for 'something to insult you with' while apparently having little or no issue with insulting others.

Projectionism (like liberalism) IS a mental illness, my FRiend.

Good day, sir/madam.

Just try carrying a large amount of cash through the airport. They bust Americans for a few grand and sieze the money.

Simply because your original question is not based in fact -

An illegal from Bangladesh, ( are we fighting them too ? ) was in a group with another man who was a member of a gang with alledged ties to al-queda ... and that makes a stream.

Your Senator quotes an Austrialian coulmnist, who cites unnamed "Intelligence Sources" and you suck that up as "fact".

Your Senator mentions Padilla as someone who "planed to enter the U.S. through the Mexican border" - a claim that is somewhat absurd as he was arrested at the airport in Chicago as he FLEW in.

So check under your bed, and be thankfull that Pres. Bush is keeping the fight going over there.

"Just try carrying a large amount of cash through the airport."

You must have missed my reply upthread -

Pretty stupid thing for them to do, when they could simply deposit it in a bank overseas, and take it out from the ATM's over here as needed. 10 accounts can get you 4 grand a day. Have the cards mailed or Fedexed to you so you don't have to bring them through customs either.

"They bust Americans for a few grand and sieze the money"

Under what law ?
Since you are not required to declare it at all under 10 grand.

Why limit it to just one photo? Here is the entire lesson, "Border Reality 101."

This is what most of our southern border looks like: there is no government-built fence at all. There is often just whatever is left over from some forgotten cattle fence, built privately to keep U.S. cattle from wandering freely into Mexico. For hundreds of miles there is not even a broken cattle fence, there is nothing at all.

For comparison, below the broken cattle fence photo is a sample of an inexpensive but highly effective double border fence system, with a plowed strip to reveal footprints. This type of system is very cheap and can be built with great speed.

Here is what some of San Diego County has: a wall made of rusty Viet Nam-era runway mats. The corrugations are even horizontal, (to make climbing easier?) The illegals in this photo were spotted by unexpected civilian volunteers, and jumped back over the border.

Here is what the border looks like where the runway mat wall exists. Mexico begins on the other side of the ineffective rusty wall, which actually helps the smugglers, by hiding their movements until the occasional USBP vehicle has driven out of sight.

This is how "the game" is played. Smugglers hide on the other side of the wall with their dope and/or their illegals, out of sight of the USBP. They wait for the highly visible white BP vehicle to drive over the distant hills. Lookouts with cell phones and walkie-talkies report on the current locations of the BP units. They know with certainty that "the coast is clear" for an hour or two, and the smugglers and illegals hop the fence and run into the scrub only 50 yards away. From there, they are out of sight, and they walk 1-2 miles to holding houses. Then they wait for nightfall, and are picked up and driven in vans to LA or San Diego.

Lastly, below is the Duncan Hunter 15' fence, which is already being built along a few "showplace" miles of San Diego, mainly near the ports of entry, where panderng politicians can conveniently show it off to gullible reporters. The House has approved building 700 miles of it, which would be a great start. As you can see, the rusty runway wall is seen at the left side, Mexico begins on the other side. In areas with the 15 foot fence, dope smugglers and illegals will have to cross the open sand ("the government road" as it is called) before starting to try to get over the 15 foot fence. It's extremely tough, and resists cutting. Attacking the fence would have to be done right out in the open, in full view of cameras. This type of fence, on the U.S. side of the government road, will give the USBP a barrier to patrol, instead of forcing them to chase illegals around 100,000 square miles of wide-open frontier land, which is a fool's errand.

How many illegal aliens come through tunnels, vice over the surface?

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

Absolutely NOT.. Terrorists can fly right into to New York City EASILY.. or come across the Canadian border in a zillion places.. Whos to STOP them CANADIANS?..

The Mexican insurgency is about the economy and politics..

1) The Economy in increasing the need for the welfare state..
2) Politics in the renegade import of prospective (prototype)democrats..

The Mexican incursion/insurgency will doom Bushs legacy (in the future) to sedition.. Saying he didn't "know" the outcome of it, is calling him STUPID.. He is not stupid.. The Mexican insurgency being "allowed" ON PURPOSE..

Its not about National Security its about National Identity.. When you don't know who you are anymore THEN the Global identity can BEGIN..

Suggest a re-think..

The fence makes perfect sense to me. Sometimes you can bail fast enoungh to keep the boat from sinking, but ultimately, you have to patch the hull.

Nip the problem in the bud. Cut off the flow, and use the resources freed by that to deal with the rest.

Tunnels will never be a viable mass scale people smuggling method, not for any length of time. The more people who know about them, the sooner someone will blab.

I have to admit, you can cut n' paste and waste bandwidth with the best of them.
We used to have a few here who could fill books with the collection of pictures they would post over and over at the drop of a hat. Haven't seen them around in a while.

BTW, your "highly effective" border fence would be breached in minutes, but I'm assumming that you didn't write the words either.

I agree, and even the Quislings understand this basic logic.

But since their goal is not the defense of American sovereignty but its destruction, they have go use bogus straw-man arguments to oppose building a proper security fence system.

Well, at least you realize that the "terrorists coming from Mexico" routine is simply to put more of a scare into people.

A quick halt to the illegals problem is to enfore our laws against the AMERICANS who hire them.
Then cut off ALL welfare, education and support programs ( maybe do this first ).
Finally deport EVERY illegal - no excuses, no "I've got kids here", no "just let me get my hat"

The Fence will not solve anything - at some point the steps above MUST be done. Let's stop getting sidetracked and concentrate on doing them NOW.

When the "Big Dig" tunnels were first opened under Boston, I took a wrong turn and I saw a sign that said TIJUANA - 3218m.

Maybe that's why the Big Dig ended up being so expensive!
