I wasn't aware that Marfan's syndrome was a disorder. I thought it was just a genetic characteristic. I have it, and two of my three children inherited it. My Mother had it and one of my Uncles has it. It appears to be a dominant trait.
I guess one day blue eyes will be considered a genetic "disorder."

People with Marfan's Syndrome have a greater chance of dying from a heart attack. A woman.s Basketball star that died very young had it. I think it can also affect the heart valves.

Abe Lincoln was a giant of his time. I agree he had extraordinary abilities. But...
He also used force of arms to conquer the States which should have had the right to leave the union. He above all was responsible for converting our sovereign States into vassals of the federal government.

Uh, no. There is no proscribed method for leaving the Union because it doesn't happen: the entire point is that once you join, you can't leave. This was understood well before the Civil War as various territories applied for statehood.
The conception and advocation of secession is the single worst contribution Thomas Jefferson has made to this country.
He above all was responsible for converting our sovereign States into vassals of the federal government.
No, Lincoln was responsible for preserving the union, nothing more. The federal government did not become the "do what we want or we'll take away funding for your programs" machine it is today until FDR came along.

The article doesn't mention this, but from what I have read elsewhere, the idea that Lincoln had Marfan syndrome has been debunked. An article I read in a medical journal pointed out that one of the symptoms of Marfan syndrome is decreased physical strength. Lincoln displayed his great strength on a number of occasions, such as in wood-chopping demonstrations. The article also showed a cast of one of Lincoln's hands, which looked quite strong, without the thin fingers expected in Marfan syndrome.

...ataxia that affects the coordination it takes to walk, write, speak and swallow. I've never seen any accounts stating that Lincoln had problems speaking. In fact the exact opposite seems to be true, he was a spellbinding speaker. And having seen examples of his handwriting I'd say that he had no problems in that area either.

He also used force of arms to conquer the States which should have had the right to leave the union. Those states chose war as their way to further their aims. As Lincoln himself might have said, don't start what you aren't prepared to finish.

Abe Lincoln, the ultimate tyrant. Unlike all those liberty-loving, Constitution-embracing southern guys, huh?
