Thank God. My nipples were really sore.
A nurse-in? I'll be there. I love those suckers.
I don't get it. This Y didn't want to have breast-feeding near the pool so they banned it. That's their right. Now, they are going to be treated to "nurse-ins"??
What is wrong with the rule change? Is it soooo difficult to walk back into the wherever one needs to go and nurse? Ridiculous!
And I'm not swayed by the "it's natural" argument either. I mean, doing "number 2" is natural too but MOST folks don't cop a squat right where they are and do it! Most have the decency to go to the restroom to do it.
"YMCA.....hey hey hey hey"
They would rather be known for the village people image I suppose?
I do NOT want to swim in a pool where babies are allowed to urinate and defecate in. I also do not want to swim in a pool where babies drool, dribble, or spit up milk.
Public pools are disgusting.
These friggin women.....disgusting egotistical swine.
If they want to nurse their babies, they can do it in the woman's locker room. At our YMCA, there are separate locker rooms for woman with children and another for adult woman. The locker rooms are equipped with seating areas as well.
For once, I think the breastfeeding ban is correct. I don't necessarily agree that the lifeguards should be distracted by it, but if noone else can eat by the pool, then neither can baby. I don't understand why any Mom would want to nurse at a pool. Our YMCA has a nursery for babies. Moms can go in there and nurse. And leave baby, so Mom can watch older children.
I wonder what they're gonna do about leaky boobs in the pool. lol
I wonder why it's okay to breastfeed babies in other areas of the facility, just not the pool? Seems stupid to me. But, they can make the rules as they want to. I won't deny that.
Gay dudes don't breast feed anyway.
I am a very active freelance photographer. I do a lot of events and am always uncomfortable when a Mom whips out one of the things and begins to feed the baby while I'm shooting around her. One part of being a good shooter is being aware of what's around you and what effect the background will have on your picture. It's easy enough to keep them out of my shots, but I am constantly having to look around to see what's going to be in the next shot. Frequently I've had the feeling the Mom(s) thought I was stealing furtive glances at their boobs.
I remember a bit in the Life in the United States section of Reader's Digest at least 40 years ago where a young dad was taking a test in med school and was asked to cite at least four reasons that breast mil was better than bottle feeding. He got the first three, but was stumped on the fourth and ended up saying "because it comes in such an attractive package."
I do a lot of photographs of newborn babies and their moms. There are a couple of standard shots that are always good and mom feeding the baby is high on the list. It's a bit more problematical when she's breast feeding, but a lot of moms have no problem at all with pictures of her baby at her breast.

Pics?
Simple...ban eating around the pool.
Eating is eating.
All because they were allowed to take the "M" out of YMCA.
