I met two couples who had fled San Diego to east Tennessee when I visited family recently. They said things got too expensive, taxes were too crazy, and their car had just been demolished by an illegal immigrant who, of course, had no insurance and disappeared into the night.
That was the end of California for them.
We have an illegal immigration problem? When did this happen?

We moved from California Dec 24 2004 and arrived in PA Dec 29th 2004. I miss the ocean and the community I lived in where I knew everyone. I miss Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and my 2 sisters and 2 brothers. But PA has been the better move for my family. I was in CA last week for work and talked to someone who moved to CA from PA. She can't believe she can't buy a can of paint, or what the cost of living is and how gangs in So Cal are just part of living there (Ventura County).
