Richmond, B.C. — There was an emotional farewell Thursday at Vancouver International Airport as medical marijuana crusader Steve Kubby reluctantly returned to the United States to face a jail sentence.

The former Libertarian candidate for Governor of California who fled to Canada has been deported.

I wonder if that is true. Twenty year survival is amazing!

Kubby was looking at house arrest when he decided to violate the probation terms he had agreed to.

I would betcha his doctor is a doper and this is a scam to enable him to grow/smoke dope.

Once he got publicity, it was all about the publicity.

He should go to federal prison for international flight to avoid prosecution.

As I've read he and his dr's testified 120 days without his meds, would cause the cancer which is under control, to flare up.

I'm not sure why he has involved the compassionate medical marijuana act into the equation, it wasn't the pot he was going to have to be punished for, it was peyote or magic mushrooms.

Maybe, I do know there's medicinal value in marijuana. It's been legal in California now for 10 years and USC Davis and other researchers are starting to write publications validating its efficacy.
