PRINCETON, NJ -- A new CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll finds the two women who are most frequently mentioned as potential presidential candidates of their respective parties are each opposed by about half the electorate. Among registered voters, 48% would consider voting for New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for president in 2008, including 16% who say they would "definitely" vote for her. Fifty-one percent say they would "definitely" not vote for Clinton.

Considering this is a Gallop/CNN/USA poll, take 10 points away from the 48% for Hillary and you have a more realistic figure.

Cow.

I know this may be an oversimplification but I really do not think the American public will vote a for a bitchy woman for president.

There are two many audio clips of her shrieking, shrill, nasty tirades floating around.

Clinton has more unfavorables than Rice, but what I draw from the article is that we won't have a woman President in 2000 either way.

Sorry, Geena Davis!

Question is, who will that one elephant be? Condi's got the best shot, but she isn't going to take it.

Who would really want to vote for "old fat butt first lady" anyway! The only way she would win is by cheating and we all know how good they are at covering up their cheats!

This is getting old. Condi isn't running.

It doesn't matter. It reinforces the idea that Hillary! isn't invincible.

I was just pointing out a little different "spin" on it.

A search for hillary and poll will give you about a dozen hits in the last 24 hours

Condi would fill a VP slot like hand-in-glove. All she has to do is get the presidential candidate's message out. And she's done that in several positions. She is far too smart to go to the NFL like she wants to. Maybe she hates big crowds? Bush likes big crowds. He did well with a bunch over 20,000 where he could be himself.

Maybe Condi's office doesn't allow her to be comfortable and tell jokes?

From what I gather, she just doesn't wanna. She wants to go back to academia after '08. Not even seeking another cabinet position in a future administration. Sucks for us.

Mrs. Bill Clinton read her polls and she will be saying f--- y-- in the Senate soon enough- like she does in private regularly.

Eisenhower said the same thing during Truman. If a general can get recruited, can't a PhD with other skills?

Let's just watch. We don't know what tomorrow offers to us, and certainly don't know what years in the future offer to us.

A bit disappointing to see Condi's not much more popular as a Presidential candidate than Hillary.

Hillary's running, Condi is not.
Ya think that might explain it?

This pol is useless because the real deciding factor would be turnout.

A Condi-Satan . . I mean Condi-Hillary race would mean high GOP turnout and a somewhat reduced Commie . .I mean Dem turnout.

For example, many black voters may decide to sit it out and not vote against Condi.
