tv: 1. An obsolete entertainment, news, and sports broadcast of sound and images to a privately owned receiver. Soon to be replaced by HDTV. Appeals to trailer trash, unemployed, illiterate, couch potatoes and liberals. Used to indoctrinate or persuade those who make decisions based on emotional rather than rational reasons. In urban and rural areas some of these people actually pay for the privilege of receiving the signal by cable or satellite. (I am not making this up.)
