Here's the only way I see a Hillary win. McCain loses the nomination, gets mad and runs as an independent. The press will REALLY love him then. The Pubbies go for a country club pro-abort Republican who splits the vote with McCain. McCain gets the "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore" vote, the Libertarians and social conservatives sit home. Hillary picks up the dead vote, the old people still voting for Roosevelt, both the feminists, and the left-wing nutburgers, assuming Ralph Nader doesn't run again.

The three people most responsible for putting Bill Clinton in the White House for eight years are Ross Perot, George H. W. Bush, and Bob Dole. Perot did it on purpose (I still think he was paid to run, or promised government contracts or something), but Bush and Dole did it to themselves. We have to run FOR something. ("It's my turn" isn't a good campaign platform.)

Rudy Giuliani will NOT be soft on the war on terror, just like he was not soft on the Mafia during his prosecutorial days. That is his strongest suit, and one which will carry him in good stead.

She has gotten nothing but wonderful press for 13 years now...no opposing views of her. No real, genuine scrutiny. She's not going to be able to do that through a campaign.

Not to mention the fact that she's been dogged with FReepers (we FReeped her here in Chicago in 1998) and will continue to be so every step of the way. She will definitely NOT get a free pass.

You're right. McCain will not get the Republican nomination, and will run as a third party. He has a screw loose, and is an incredible egotist. I dislike him intensly. He's not an independent. He's totally for himself. He's mean and vindictive. He makes Richard Nixon look like a nice guy.

Guilianni is a much better choice. I dislike his abortion stand, but will vote for him over Hillary any day. McCain I'll stay home.
